Overview

DC&F is a full-service construction management firm based in North York Ontario which services the southwestern Ontario area. Our primary area of focus is mid rise multi-residential condominium and apartment projects varying from 10 million to 60 million dollars in value which make up 80% of the company’s work. Additionally, DC&F conducts mid to large renovations for various commercial applications including the medical offices, sales centers, office spaces and other commercial fit up projects.

DC&F is currently searching for an experienced and qualified estimator to join our team.

Specific Skills
Prepare estimates of probable costs of materials, labour and equipment, and subcontracts for construction projects based on contract bids, quotations, schematic drawings and specifications Advice on tendering procedures, examine and analyze tenders, recommend tender awards and conduct negotiations Establish and maintain tendering processes Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors and subcontractors Liaise, consult and communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors Analyze drawings and specifications. Understand contractual terms and conditions. Including contents of CCDC contracts. Assemble accurate and well organized estimates and proposals in a timely manner for Stipulated Price, Design-Build and Construction/Project Management formatted projects. Provide clear detailed quantity take offs. Organize sub-contractors quotations, negotiate to insure quotes meet contract documents and issue proper documented purchase orders. Provide and maintain unit pricing and database for material and labour costing. Formulate cost break down from estimates and for project progress. Applicant requirements

Explore documentation in order to gain a deep understanding of the project requirements Select, measure and track important metrics Visit sites to conduct estimates as required Perform complex analysis of collected data and metrics Analyze and evaluate quotations and proposals Build and maintain long-term relationships with subcontractors and vendors

Educational Requirements

Minimum 5 years experience in estimating full projects for multi residential buildings Knowledge of CCDC contracts and how to write them Experienced at writing trade specific scopes of work Proficient at analyzing drawings, specifications and reports (geotechnical reports, DSS reports etc.) Ability to analyze and make recommendations on changes to drawings, specifications etc. to value engineer projects.
